I purchased this flat iron as I wanted something that would both straighten and curl my hair. Unfortunately, it's a bit too small for my medium-length, but THICK hair. It does heat up very quickly, but simply takes a long time to straighten my hair due to the size of the plates. I give it 4 stars because while it is a slow process for *me*, it does straighten beautifully and doesn't make my hair appear dull or give it that "too straight" look. As for curling, it only works when I use very small sections of hair. May be more effective for someone whose hair is normal to thin. Great product, just not the best for thick hair.

I bought one of these Conair hair straighteners about 9 months ago .I loved it so much that I just bought a second one to keep for a back up . It heats in seconds(seriously),it's a lot cheaper than ones I've seen in stores, and it works. AND some of the money spent on it goes to a good cause. How can you go wrong ?!
